Holy crap what an awesome game.
& considering my first American ancestors on the second voyage after the Mayflower came from Holland I am claiming Dutch ancestral rights to celebrate as well today. Heh heh.. Proost! ; )
Happy Queen’s Day to all my crazy Dutch friends and peers. Hope it’s a blast. Wish we could be there.

Pinterest reaches fever pitch. Instinct& intuitive behavior instigates retail far better than just social or recommendation. Starting to see the emperors have no clothes. http://mashable.com/2012/04/29/pinterest-interest/

Keep telling cubers, web devs, game devs, publishers, filmmakers, execs … Audience experience = little math priority … Users = mostly math priority. Build accordingly.

Temporary Frustrated private Rant warning- article about “Hugo” Gets to a piece of the heart of how difficult complex collaborative content is …and why the web dev & technical communities speaking of film/tv $$$ without understanding the contractual complexity & risk… Is a little like when I pretend to be fluent in French. Response to question this AM> Hyv was built based off 5 inspirational things. Production DOD schedules, storyboards, HTML5 hypervideo mapping, timecode/editing tools and the basics of CSS/layering /compositing. The Wave in all it’s implementations/states (thru Google and Apache) gave me the ideas for behind/in front of curtain I/O stuff and Tu-Is. Project Klondike is a part of Tu-Is....
Seems to me, even big companies who want access to everyone’s data for economic reasons… Win big when firewalls are controlled keeping them from that data. In a few words >.audience/user comfort & trust.
Media Lab has a problem of being in a creative echo chamber … IMHO … Why 99% takes so slow to evolve because their demographic is overwhelmingly knowledge prismed/skewed.

He trashes Jeff Z but I like Jeff…and/but he is right… Jeff was a news producer…and understood/understands the technical side (genius on that side)… he is not creative and that was their downfall. It’s the same downfall most of the internet providers are about to face.

On ER, George Clooney laid down the law. As co-star Noah Wyle tells it: “George pulled us all into the trailer … ‘I’ve done a lot of shows, and what’s killed all of them is a lack of cohesion. This show is going to be different. We’re going to be nice to everybody. We’re going to know our lines. We’re going to be on time.’ … and we were young enough...

Indie union signatory rules are just as much a hornets nest as are studio residual & ownership signatory agreements. & most indie filmmakers & onlineAR/ & game dev video “experts” have little clue on serial content agreements. Unions don’t give something for nothing. Front end cheap agreements get super complicated the moment you get out of production. &...

What’s funny to note is how many technology based media delivery companies now, after scaling, are trying to pivot to content companies and learning.. Oooooh that’s the hard part. Art and meaning that moves massive amounts of people is hard. So they are fighting anyone who actually took the $$$$ risk and had the skill to do so …that they have been scaling on the backs of for next...
A lot of people (with a lot of $, power and stake in that we don’t)… don’t want us to succeed. It’s nice when a handful with a lot of talent and brains do. & I am very appreciative.
Feels good when you have a bunch of people that you have worked teaching new structures to (for years) and the day comes when you don’t have to speak on the bi-weekly call… They are enthusiastically chatting about projects as you listen. ; )

This post should have actually been titled “Why Facebook Needs To Build Their Own Phone”.
Everything I hear indicates that Facebook’s once big HTML5 dreams keep getting pushed and pushed and pushed. It’s a noble cause, but it’s also one they have to take up, since they don’t control the key platforms: iOS and Android.
All the finger-crossing hasn’t worked. And Facebook grows...
